No worries, surfboards and wetsuits will be provided.

Yes, of course you can. We even encourage our students to bring their own boards provided those boards are appropriate for their skill level.

Unfortunately we do not offer regular rentals, we can only provide wetsuits and boards to our students as part of their lessons or camp experience. For rentals we suggest contacting Beach Wolf, the small store located at Moonlight Beach next to the bathrooms.

The following beaches have nearby restrooms and showers: Cardiff State Beach, San Elijo State Beach, Swami’s Beach, Moonlight Beach

Grandview has a port-o-potty in the parking lot and a shower at the stairs.

Alongside other surf schools, we are located North of Moonlight Beach. Please park at Moonlight Beach Parking Lot, walk to the beach and head North until you see our light-blue Buenas Olas tent and boards. The walk from the Parking Lot to our Location takes about 7 minutes. Please plan to arrive accordingly and feel free to give us a call if you have any questions on how to find us.

You don’t need to be a competitive swimmer, but you should be comfortable and confident in the water. For beginners, we stay in the waist-deep "inside" area. Crucially, all our instructors are CPR certified and trained in advanced ocean safety to ensure a safe environment for all ages.

Once our students reach a certain skill level in surfing, we take them out to the outside to learn how to catch waves in the line up.

You will be asked to provide your credit card or debit card information. If no one answers, please leave a message and we will get back to you right away.

For Lessons:
We provide a full refund if the booking is cancelled at least 48h before the start of the lesson. We will refund 50% of the full price if cancelled 24h prior to the lesson. Any cancellation after that can not be refunded.

For Camps:
Camp sessions that are cancelled up to 7 days before the starting date, will be entirely refunded. For a cancellation within a week of camp start, you’ll receive a 50% refund. Cancellations 24h prior to the start of the surf camp session can not be refunded.

Safety is our top priority. In the case of severe weather conditions, we may adjust activities, reschedule sessions, or provide alternative beach-related fun. Luckily, Southern California summers rarely disappoint.

We are a proud multilingual surf school. Our standard lessons are in English and/or Spanish. Because our instructors come from all over the world - including Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil - we also offer coaching in Portuguese, German, and Sign Language (available upon request, subject to availability).
